Australia’s favourite music TV quiz show RockWiz is about to wind up its six-episode 2015 season in spectacular fashion with guests Julia Stone, John Butler and Paul Kelly.
The feedback and general vibe for the short run of RocKwiz episodes (Salutes The Decades) has been extremely positive … recent ratings were described in an industry report as “massive” and Renegade Films, the production team who make the show, has been delighted by viewers (and industry) response.
In the ’90s episode, former Go Between Robert Forster swapped hair care tips with Julia, Tim Freedman rapped from the pages of The Monthly, Emma Donovan performed a stunning version of Macy Gray’s ‘I Try’ and Davey Lane spilt the beans on the Gallagher brothers after he delivered a dynamic version of ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’.
Check out Robert Forster’s version of ‘Cream.’
This week (Saturday July 4, 8.30 pm on SBS) is the final episode of the series and the show celebrates the artists and music of the 2000s. Julia Stone adds some sulty sex appeal to The Strokes, John Butler finally appears (after 10 years of being chased by the show’s producers), an excited fan almost faints when he realises Paul Kelly, his answer to a question, is about to hit the Gershwin Room stage … and there is a joyous series finale of a smash hit from 2003.
