Gary Clark Jr Headlines Boogie 8


Boogie 8 has announced its line-up for its 8th festival to be held on Easter weekend, April 18 – 20, 2014 at Bruzzy’s Farm in the hills of Tallarook, an hour’s drive north of Melbourne  (Tickets include free camping and train travel to and from Melbourne). Tickets are on sale right now from (as well as Greville Records and Polyester in the city and Fitzroy).

The line up so far includes: Gary Clark Jr, The Mastersons, Jason Isbell, Tift Merritt, Pond, legendary Australian indigenous songwriter Vic Simms with The Halfway Allstars, Chris Russell’s Chickenwalk, The Frowning Clowds, Canadian singer Linda Ortega, (recently described as ‘The voice of a young Emmylou Harris just discovering Dolly Parton’), Sydney’s Bed Wettin’ Bad Boys and The Bloods, Machine Translations, St Jude, Batpiss, Teeth & Tongue, The Creases, Mustered Courage, Badd//Dreems, Warmth Crashes In, Day Ravies, The Bottles of Confidence, The Ocean Party, Luke Legs & The Midnight Specials and Stella Angelico.

The festival also features the late night venue The Hillbilly Clubhouse and Truck DJs.

Brian Wise

Brian Wise was the Editor of Addicted To Noise‘s Australian site from 1997 – 2002. The site won two ONYA Awards as Best Online Music Magazine in 1999 & 2000. He has also been Editor since its reincarnation in 2013. He also presents the weekly music interview program Off The Record on 102.7 Triple R-FM ( in Melbourne. It is networked to 45+ stations across Australia on the Community Radio Network and is a four-time winner of the Best Music Program Award from the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia. In 2012, it was nominated as a finalist in the Excellence in Music Programming category. Brian was also the Founding Editor & Publisher of Rhythms Magazine and is now its Senior Contributing Editor.
