Dylan Japan Tour Announced


Bob Dylan has announced a 14-date tour of Japan for March/April.

Dylan will play six shows at Zepp Diver City in Tokyo from March 31 through to April 8; two shows at Zepp Sapporo, April 13-14; Zepp Nagoya April 17-18; one show at Zepp Fukuoka April 19; and, four shows in a row at Zepp Namba in Osaka April 21-24.

Ticket prices, which range from US$124 to US$210, which according to Pollstar, rival those of The Rolling Stones who play Tokyo in early March, and are more expensive than for Paul McCartney’s November stadium tour. (Media are reports have it that the ex-Beatle grossed US$40 million on his six Japan shows, or a little less than 40 percent of his total 2013 world tour).

This will be Dylan’s seventh tour of Japan; he last toured Japan in 2010. He released a live album – Bob Dylan At Budokan – recorded in 1978 at his first shows in Japan.

The Rolling Stones will be play just one venue in Japan – Tokyo Dome – and only for three nights.
