Tom Waits Added To Bridge School Line-Up

Tom Waits will make a rare live appearance at this year’s Bridge School Benefit, set for October 26th-27th at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California.

The two-day, all-acoustic concert, curated by Neil Young and now in its 27th year, will also feature performances by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Queens of the Stone Age, My Morning Jacket, The Killers (Saturday only), Elvis Costello, Jenny Lewis, Heart and Diana Krall.

Waits himself will perform only on Sunday, the October 27. He last appeared at the benefit show in 2007 with the Kronos Quartet and performed an 8-song set.

Waits, who hasn’t toured since 2008, announced his addition to the lineup on Saturday night, saying in a statement on his website: ”I had every good intention to stay home and work on my JD Salinger Halloween mask, but when Neil told me yesterday he was serving burnt cow’s eyes on a flat tire and it’s all gluten free, I invited myself!”

The statement also noted that: “Last Minute Tom will perform a full acoustic set featuring songs from his album BAD AS ME with his band (David Hidalgo guitar; Les Claypool bass; Casey Waits, drums; and more).”

Tickets to Bridge School 2013 are available at: Bridge School Benefit. (Proceeds benefit the Bridge School, a non-profit organization whose mission is to ensure that individuals with severe speech and physical impairments achieve full participation in their communities.)
