Rally For Gregg Allman

Rounder Records and select Harley-Davison locations are uniting for The Midnight Riders Rally, a special event commemorating the final album from the legendary Gregg Allman. Southen Blood is released on Friday, September 8.

Gregg, a co-founding member of legendary rock group The Allman Brothers Band and Harley-Davidson enthusiast, passed away at the age of 69 earlier this year. He recorded Southern Blood with producer Don Was and Allman’s longtime manager and friend Michael Lehman at FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. The album features 10 songs performed by the Gregg Allman Band and written by Jerry Garcia & Robert Hunter, Lowell George, Bob Dylan, Willie Dixon, Jackson Browne, Tim Buckley, Scott Sharrard, Spooner Oldham & Dan Penn and others.

Fans can register for their local rally via the Gregg Allman Official Store; a portion of the $20 registration benefits the Allman/Lehman Endowed Scholarship at Syracuse University, with all registrations also receiving a digital download of Southern Blood.

Every rally will feature an exclusive raffle, with giveaways including CDs, DVDs, vinyl LPs, and limited edition 10” vinyl picture disc featuring three never heard before live performances from 2014’s All My Friends: Celebrating the Songs & Voice of Gregg Allman tribute concert event.

Select locations will see partnerships with local breweries while others will display classic Harley-Davison motorcycles from Allman’s own fabled collection. Fans attending The Midnight Riders Rally will be invited to share their photos, videos, and memories using the hashtag #MidnightRidersRally; all submissions will then be displayed on www.greggallman.com.

If anyone is interested in hosting a rally in his or her Australian city, they can contact Adam Jones at ajones@rounder.com.
