Patty Griffin's 'Lost' Album To Be Released


Patty Griffin’s previously unreleased album, Silver Bell, recorded in 2000 and intended to be the follow-up to her 1998 second album release, Flaming Red, will finally see the light of day on October 4.

The album was not released by A&M Records due to the label’s ownership change but a newly mixed version by legendary producer Glyn Johns, will now be released for the first time via Universal Music.

Silver Bell features 14 original songs recorded at Daniel Lanois’ Kingsway Studio in New Orleans with Griffin on vocals, guitar and piano along with guitarist Doug Lancio, keyboardist John Deaderick, bassist Frank Swart, and percussionist Billy Beard.

Emmylou Harris sang harmony on one track, ‘Truth #2’ (one of two songs on the album covered by the Dixie Chicks on their 6-million-selling 2002 album Home. (Natalie Maines also recorded Silver Bell’s title track for her recent solo debut, Mother).
