Out On The Weekend and Love Police Touring have announced headline shows for Robert Ellis and The Perfect Strangers, Lindi Ortega, Joshua Hedley, Joe Pug and The Cactus Blossoms. All acts will play the already announced Americana festival Out On The Weekend on October 15 at Seaworks in Melbourne.

Texan born and raised singer-songwriter Robert Ellis and The Perfect Strangers, along with fellow troubadours Joshua Hedley and Joe Pug, will return to Australia in October to play a bunch of headline shows. The trio will perform at Meeniyan Town Hall on October 14, The Basement in Sydney on October 18, and both Northcote Social Club on October 20 and the Caravan Music Club on October 21 in Melbourne.

And in a special solo engagement Robert Ellis and Joshua Hedley will also perform at Hobart’s Franklin Bar & Restaurant on October 16.

The duo of Lindi Ortega and The Cactus Blossoms will perform at Newtown Social Club, in Sydney on October 17, Northcote Social Club in Melbourne on October 19 & Meeniyan Town Hall on October 21.

Tickets for all shows will go on sale Thursday, September 1.

Robert Ellis‘s touring band The Perfect Strangers consists of Kelly Doyle, guitar, Geoffrey Muller, bass, Will Van Horn, pedal steel guitar and Michael “Tank” Lisenbe, drums and will also be joining in him here in Australia.

Canadian songstress Lindi Ortega, described by The Guardian as “southern Americana with emotional heft,” makes a welcome and overdue return to Australia and Out On the Weekend having last played shows here in 2014. In 2015 she released her fourth album Faded Gloryville to glowing reviews.

Joshua Hedley, who has toured Australia with Justin Townes Earle and Jonny Fritz and recently completed a co-headlining Australian tour with Willie Watson, will be back at Out On The Weekend but this time stepping out front and centre as the star of his show with his own brand of traditional country music.

Chicago born and raised Joe Pug also makes a long overdue return having not been here since 2012. In that time Joe wrote, recorded and released his third and critically acclaimed album Windfall,  a 10-song indie-folk album that has cemented his reputation as one of America’s most respected young songwriters.

The Cactus Blossoms are making their first trip to Australia and include brothers Page Burkum and Jack Torrey. Their debut album You’re Dreaming was released in 2015.
