Glen Hansard – October Tour

Irish singer songwriter Glen Hansard has announced an October tour of Australia. The former lead singer of The Frames, has forged a successful solo career since the film Once in 2007, which won him an Oscar for Best Original Song recorded with Markéta Irglová.

Hansard, who latest release is the EP A Season On The Line, now sells out such prestigious venues as The Hollywood Bowl, the London Palladium, New York’s Radio City Hall and the Sydney Opera House. He has become a popular guest on America’s night-time talk shows.

Hansard will be touring with an 11-piece group including piano, strings and a brass section. His recent shows have been up to 26 songs in length and have included songs from the Swell Season and The Frames along with covers of songs by Dylan, Van Morrison and even James Brown!

Brian Wise

Brian Wise was the Editor of Addicted To Noise‘s Australian site from 1997 – 2002. The site won two ONYA Awards as Best Online Music Magazine in 1999 & 2000. He has also been Editor since its reincarnation in 2013. He also presents the weekly music interview program Off The Record on 102.7 Triple R-FM (rrr.org.au) in Melbourne. It is networked to 45+ stations across Australia on the Community Radio Network and is a four-time winner of the Best Music Program Award from the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia. In 2012, it was nominated as a finalist in the Excellence in Music Programming category. Brian was also the Founding Editor & Publisher of Rhythms Magazine and is now its Senior Contributing Editor.
