Bluesfest Announces 11 Tours!

Bluesfest has announced a total of 11 tours under its banner for next year with the following acts: Melissa Etheridge, Tedeschi Trucks Band, The Decemberists, The Word, Vintage Trouble, Nahko and Medicine For The People, Songhoy Blues, Shakey Graves, Allen Stone, St. Paul & The Broken Bones and Rhiannon Giddens.

And in other touring news Live Nation and Bluesfest Touring recently announced that singer-songwriter Jackson Browne will be performing Bluesfest sideshows in Australia and New Zealand in 2016. The tour begins on Sunday March 27th at Bluesfest, includes a performance at Sydney’s Opera House on Monday 28th March, Melbourne’s Palais Theatre on Friday 1st April and concludes at the Civic Theatre in Auckland, NZ on Sunday 3rd April.

Grammy award winning Blues and Roots Rock group Tedeschi Trucks Band who Bluesfest Festival Director Peter Noble says are laying their claim right now as THE greatest live Southern Blues Rock band on the road today.” The supergroup will be heading to the Forum Theatre in Melbourne on Saturday 19th March, the Canberra Theatre on Sunday 20th March and the Enmore Theatre in Sydney on Tuesday 22nd March before their Bluesfest performance. The 11-piece tour-de-force, has quickly become the vanguard of modern Roots music.

More official sideshow announcements are still to come in the lead up to Byron Bay Bluesfest, held from 24th– 28th March 2016.

Brian Wise

Brian Wise was the Editor of Addicted To Noise‘s Australian site from 1997 – 2002. The site won two ONYA Awards as Best Online Music Magazine in 1999 & 2000. He has also been Editor since its reincarnation in 2013. He also presents the weekly music interview program Off The Record on 102.7 Triple R-FM (rrr.org.au) in Melbourne. It is networked to 45+ stations across Australia on the Community Radio Network and is a four-time winner of the Best Music Program Award from the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia. In 2012, it was nominated as a finalist in the Excellence in Music Programming category. Brian was also the Founding Editor & Publisher of Rhythms Magazine and is now its Senior Contributing Editor.
